Canyon of Grand Galet

Discover one of the most spectacular canyons of the Wild South of Reunion: the Grand Galet canyon, on the Langevin river.

This very complete canyon is an ideal first approach to discovering large-scale canyons while remaining technically accessible - thanks in particular to the guided rappel which facilitates large verticals - and fun thanks to the second part: the Langevin canyon aquatic hike.

The Langevin river, which has its source under the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, offers you a progressive adventure combining technique, verticality and aquatic pleasure in crystal clear drinking water at the very foot of the waterfall!

After an approach walk of about 25 minutes on a small road, we reach the river bed, initially dry, before tackling serious things.

Two first abseils of 15 and 25 meters allow you to warm up gently and acquire the technical basics: installation, descent, and above all, gaining confidence in the equipment. Ideal for tackling the great vertical with complete peace of mind.

Then comes the majestic 90-meter waterfall, divided into two successive abseils. A first 10 meters puts you in the full throttle atmosphere, before the big final abseil: a guided 80-metre Tyrolean-style abseil with a braked abseil rope, technically easier than a full waterfall descent... but also more impressive, because you are literally suspended in the void, unstuck from the wall!

The rest of the course takes place in the fun and dynamic part of the Langevin canyon, with its sequences of slides, jumps (never obligatory), zip lines, guided abseils and a pool of pure lagoon green water. A more open, joyful section, where you can jump up to 8 meters for the more daring, or choose gentler passages according to your desires.

Whether you are looking for thrills, a technical introduction to canyoning, or simply a friendly adventure in a tropical setting, the Grand Galet + Langevin duo is THE reference in Reunion: grandiose, educational, sensational... This is THE canyon of the South Wild. THE postcard!

Attention, to carry out this outing you need a group of at least 5 people. This canyon is not accessible to everyone, set your date as early as possible to give us time to fill the group. If the group is not complete, we will also look for available places with our colleagues. Otherwise, an alternative will be offered to you a few days before, or places will be automatically reserved for you in the Langevin Classique canyon.
